Network Change Detection

FEATURE EXPLANATION

NETWORK CHANGE DETECTION can be used to access your cameras outside your home network.

  • Main objective here is to automatically connect you back to your cameras when you suddenly lost connection to your Wi-Fi network. In this case app needs few seconds to switch. (depending on connection stability)
  • Losing connection to home Wi-Fi is one case, other is to simply access your cameras outside of your home location. App will determine this automatically.

EXAMPLE

Your home IP address: 8.8.8.8

Your internal camera URL: http://192.168.1.10/snapshot

Your external camera URL: http://8.8.8.8/snapshot

Required parameters:

  • HOME NETWORK IP
  • CAMERA EXTERNAL URL

If you have cameras outside your home network and you never using them on it’s “home networksimply set this URL’s on main window. Referer to CAMERAS CONFIGURATION to learn more about this.

Knowledge about computer networks and ability to set it up is required to proper use this feature. If you don’t know what you are doing, seek help from IT professional to prevent you from giving access to everyone

HOME NETWORK IP

Home

HOME NETWORK IP is required parameter for NETWORK CHANGE DETECTION proper functioning.

EXAMPLE HOME NETWORK IP: 8.8.8.8

HOME NETWORK IP address must to be your public external IP address. If you share your IP address with others (commonly used on ISP without additional payment) this function will not work because of inability to forward ports to your cameras.

If you don’t know your HOME NETWORK IP address, you can find it at sites like this:

  • https://whatismyipaddress.com/
  • https://www.whatismyip.com/

CAMERA EXTERNAL URL

CAMERA EXTERNAL URL is external address to your camera (when you are not in your HOME NETWORK)

EXAMPLE

Your home IP address: 8.8.8.8

Your internal camera URL: http://192.168.1.10/snapshot

Your external camera URL: http://8.8.8.8/snapshot

Checkbox in top right of the screen needs to be activated to turn on CAMERA NETWORK CHANGE DETECTION
